Deb and Amy at the Firefighters Charity ChallengeAmy Youster & Debi Massey, sales and marketing director from Globehuggers Emergency Supplies, recently completed the Ladies Driving Challenge at the Fire Service Training College in Moreton-in-the-Marsh. During the day they drove everything from fire engines to 40 ton artic lorries and raised over £300 for the Firefighters Charity along the way.

Deb floors it

When Debi discovered that her left foot was just for the siren it got pretty noisy!
Debi & Amy in the fire engineThe Globehugger girls looking very pleased with themselves after proving that its not just boys who can drive shiny red toys!
Amy Parks a 40 foot lorryAnd they didn't just go forward! Here Amy reverses a 40' artic lorry and breaks the myth that women can't park.
Debi and the traffic copDebi particularly liked this model... (spot the traffic cop in the passenger seat!)
speeding backThe girls seemed to think that the signs for 70 mph meant they had to drive that fast!
Recovery American StyleThis American recovery vehicle was a real looker but an absolute monster to drive. Amy & Debi had to virtually leave their seats to press the clutch down!
Debi the farmer girlParallel parking will be a breeze after this.
Amy in the forkliftThe instructor said he'd never had a forklift truck tip in 21 years. Amy thought there was always a first time.
oops upside your head

We told them to slow down!

Here the firefighters demonstrate freeing an injured person from a road traffic accident.
